‘Castle’ still exists? ‘Bones’ is still on? 20 shows that, yes, are still on TV

A common reaction to a “Grey’s Anatomy” story a couple weeks ago: “Wait, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is still on?”

To one about “American Idol”: “That show is still on the air?”

Literally any time I bring up “Big Brother”: “‘Big Brother’ still exists?!?”

The answer to all: Indeed they are alive! In the spirit of Upfront Week, as all the networks roll out their fall schedules and announce which shows survive the ax, let’s remind you about which shows are, yes, still kicking:

“Castle” (ABC) renewed for Season 8. There was some drama about whether Stana Katic would return, but don’t worry, she will.

“Bones” (Fox) renewed for Season 11. This show always seems a little touch-and-go around renewal time, but then inevitably pulls through.

“American Idol” (Fox) renewed for Season 15. That one will be the last, to the disappointment of Harry Connick Jr. fans.

“Criminal Minds” (CBS) renewed for Season 11. It just got a spinoff, too!

“The Vampire Diaries” (CW) renewed for Season 7. We’ve been without “Twilight” for awhile now, but the vampire love is still strong.

“Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC) renewed for Season 12. It’s a little less McDreamy now, but that seems fine.

“America’s Next Top Model” (CW) renewed for Season 22. No one will stop Tyra until she’s ready to be done.

“Hell’s Kitchen” (Fox) renewed for Season 15. See above: Tyra Banks, except with Gordon Ramsay.

“The Celebrity Apprentice” (NBC) renewed for Season 15. See above: Tyra Banks and Gordon Ramsay, except with Donald Trump.

“Celebrity Wife Swap” (ABC) renewed for Season 8. Originally just “Wife Swap,” it’s been around since 2004 and takes some year-long breaks between seasons..

“The Middle” (ABC) renewed for Season 7. Though it gets way less attention than its Wednesday counterpart “Modern Family,” the Heck family is going strong.

“Rookie Blue” (ABC) renewed for Season 5. This Canadian cop drama is still a surprise summer hit every year.

“Big Brother” (CBS) renewed for Season 18. A very underrated reality show.

“America’s Funniest Home Videos” (ABC) renewed for Season 26. Tom Bergeron is leaving, but the show lives on.

“Supernatural” (CW) renewed for Season 11. Nope, we can’t explain it either.

“America’s Got Talent” (NBC) renewed for Season 10. Howard Stern is still on, too.

“Blue Bloods”(CBS) renewed for Season 6. Just doing its thing on Friday nights.

“So You Think You Can Dance” (Fox) renewed for Season 11. Down to one night a week instead of two, but still doing just fine, thanks.

“Survivor” (CBS) renewed for Season 31. Don’t worry, it hasn’t been on the air for 31 years (just 15!). They air two seasons at a time.

“Grimm” (NBC) renewed for Season 5. You go, “Grimm.”
