Clarkson, Hall both have strong ratings during Monday debut

Kelly Clarkson

The two local women debuting afternoon syndicated shows this week have both gotten off to a good start. According to an article on Deadspin, NBCUniversal’s Kelly Clarkson, from Burleson, premiered on Monday to a 1.9 household rating, the highest debut rating for a first-run syndicated show in seven years.

Comedian and actor Steve Carell introduced Clarkson. Carell had used Clarkson’s name as a punchline in his film, The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

Meanwhile, Disney’s Tamron Hall program, hosted by Hall, who grew up in Fort Worth, posted a 1.4 household rating. Both are considered strong starts.
