Cowboys impose bag restrictions for preseason fans

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — A new NFL policy limiting the types and sizes of bags fans can bring into stadiums will be in effect for both of the Dallas Cowboys’ home preseason games.

The league encourages fans not to bring bags to games. Those allowed include clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. One-gallon clear re-sealable bags also are allowed, along with strapless purses and bags about the size of a hand.

Among the banned items are coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, computer bags and camera bags.

The Cowboys play the Cincinnati Bengals in their Aug. 24 home preseason opener, followed Aug. 29 by the Houston Texans. They open the regular season Sept. 8 by hosting the New York Giants.
