The Lone Star Film Festival’s (LSFF) eleventh season will take place from Nov. 8-12 in Fort Worth’s Sundance Square. The LSFF Ball will take place at Bass Performance Hall on Nov. 8.

Cybill Shepherd — a four-time Emmy nominated and three-time Golden Globe winning actress — will be honored at the LSFF Ball with the inaugural Bill Paxton Achievement in Film Award for Acting.

“It’s quite an honor for us to be presenting Cybill Shepherd with the Bill Paxton Achievement in Film Acting Award,” said Lone Star Film Society Executive Director Chad Mathews in a news release. “Shepherd has been a part of some memorable Texas films. Having her in Fort Worth should be an incredible experience for our moviegoers and film society supporters.”

Shepherd is well known for her roles in films such as The Last Picture Show, The Heartbreak Kid and Taxi Driver, as well as the successful television series Moonlighting and Cybill.

Shepherd will also attend the world premiere of her latest feature film, Rose, which will debut on Thursday, Nov. 9, at Four Day Weekend in Sundance Square.

“I’m so humbled and flattered to receive this inaugural award, which is all the more special for being named after Bill, of whom I was a huge fan and admirer”, Shepherd said in the release. “I’m also thrilled to be premiering Rose, a film of which I’m immensely proud, at the Lone Star Film Festival.”

The LSFF will feature film screenings, a film competition, panel discussions, guest speakers, awards and parties. The LSFF Ball will include dinner, awards and a special tribute to Fort Worth’s very own Bill Paxton. According to the release, Paxton will be remembered for his work on the big screen, his commitment to LSFF and his love for Fort Worth.

Events throughout the week will take place at AMC Palace Theater, Four Day Weekend Theater, Sundance Square, Sundance Pavilion, Bass Performance Hall and The Worthington Renaissance Hotel.
