DALLAS (AP) — Art objects from an Etruscan tomb are going on display for the first time at a Dallas museum.
The items going on display Friday at the Dallas Museum of Art are from a 5th-century B.C. burial site discovered in Italy almost a century ago. The exhibit, which includes four vases, a bronze statuette and an alabaster, will be on view at the museum through 2017.
The works are being displayed as part of the museum’s cultural exchange program, DMX, designed to establish collaborations for the loans of works of art and sharing of expertise.
This collaboration with Italian authorities is part of a partnership that began in 2012, when the museum transferred ownership of six objects in its collection to Italy after discovering the items had been looted years earlier.
