If you’re looking for a way to put your own touch on your upcoming nuptials or want to jazz up a wedding anniversary with a handmade gift, consider the La Prong wedding band and engagement ring workshops.
Both workshops will be offered this Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Dallas Makerspace in Carrollton.
The wedding band workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and has a base cost of $195 per person. The engagement ring workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and has a base cost of $349.
Both workshops will have additional costs due to metals chosen and any additional embellishments.
Metal cost ESTIMATES are as follows, though the price of gold does fluctuate and the exact cost will be based on current market prices the day of the workshop. All payment is due before the workshop, though the metal and embellishment payment will not be processed until the workshop is complete, in case there are any changes.

Embellishments can include an inside ring engraving ($45), a flush stone setting ($85), a prong or bezel stone setting ($149) and a rhodium dip ($59).

In the engagement ring workshop, participants have a design consultation about what they would like the ring to look like. Colors for the engagement ring include white, yellow, or rose gold in either 18K or 14K, along with a choice of texture and finish. Additionally, diamonds aren’t the only stones that can be set, participants can set any type of stone. And, at the end of the day, participants can say their engagement ring was custom made and handcrafted with love.
The La Prong wedding band workshop is the only do-it-yourself (DIY), hands-on workshop in Dallas-Fort Worth where participants make their own wedding bands.
Colors for the wedding band include 14K or 18K white gold, rose gold or yellow gold.
Participants will a raw gold ingot into a symbol of their love through measuring, cutting, shaping, soldering, sanding and polishing.
