ESPN College Gameday heads to Sundance Square again to kick off college football season

🕐 1 min read

Sundance Square will once again be the site for ESPN to kick off the college football season. ESPN will set up shop on August 31 in Sundance Square for the first week of the 2019 regular season. College GameDay will air locally from 8 am – 11 am CST on ESPN live from Sundance Square in advance of the Oregon vs. Auburn game at AT&T Stadium.

“This is an honor for us to have ESPN return to Sundance Square,” stated Johnny Campbell, President and CEO of Sundance Square. “We have a great partnership with the organization and our community has certainly embraced ESPN when they come to downtown Fort Worth. As the living room of downtown, Sundance Square Plaza is an ideal setting for events like this and we will be ready to welcome ESPN and their fans on August 31.”

College GameDay broadcasted live from Sundance Square in 2014 for the College Football Playoff National Championship and again in 2015 before the Alabama-Wisconsin game at AT&T Stadium. ESPN also made Sundance Square it’s home during Super Bowl XLV in 2011. Fans can expect to see all the familiar faces from College GameDay in Sundance Square including Coach Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Rece Davis, and Maria Taylor, Tom Rinaldi, Gene Wojciechowski, and Jen Lada. Chris “The Bear” Fallica also returns providing key pieces of information throughout the show.

In 2015, country singer Brad Paisley made a special appearance in Sundance Square for the kick off of ESPN’s College GameDay. Guests have not been announced for this year’s show. This is the 33rd season for ESPN College GameDay.
