New Tiff’s Treats location opening in Arlington

Tiff’s Treats is opening its 30th location in Arlington July 22 with a charity fundraiser for Cook Children’s Sit … Stay … PLAY facility dog program.

“We are so excited to bring warm cookie delivery to the Arlington area,” Co-founder of Tiff’s Treats Leon Chen said in a news release. “This area is home to us, and we can’t wait to work with businesses and residents to make each day a little sweeter. We are especially pleased to help be a part of the mission of Cook Children’s, as nothing is more important to us than the health and well-being of our family, and we know that’s true for our friends and fans in Arlington.”

Cook Children’s Sit … Stay … PLAY program helps patients will stress and anxiety relief through professionally trained dogs and dog handlers. Cook Children’s website says there are five dogs who are a part of the therapeutic environment and interact with the patients and families. The news release said that all of the sales up to $5,000 will be donated to Cook Children’s therapy dog program and will help cover the cost of therapy dogs by providing a year of care for one therapy dog. This will include grooming, veterinary care and food.

Although there is usually a 30-minute notice required for pick-up orders and a one hour notice for delivery, for the grand opening fundraiser there is no advance notice required. Cookies will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There are more than just warm cookies at the grand opening fundraiser. The news release said the fundraiser will include other special events such as:

– A $5 Tiff’s Treat Gift Card for any customer who brings in a new, unwrapped teddy bear for the PrayerBear program at Cook Children’s (https://www.cookchildrens.org/medical-center/family-support/Pages/pastoral-care.aspx).
