FORT WORTH – The city and arts community will hold four public meetings Thursday-Saturday on a redraw of Fort Worth’s Cultural Plan.
Matt Lehrman, principal of the Audience Avenue firm that specializes in planning for cultural communities nationally, will facilitate the meetings.
The first will be 6:30 p.m. at the Artes de la Rosa gallery, 1440 N. Main St.
The other three: • 9:30 a.m. Friday, Amphibian Stage Productions, 120 S. Main St. • 4 p.m. Friday, Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy St. • 10 a.m. Saturday, Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, 3901 S. Hulen St.
The city, foundations, and Arts Council of Fort Worth are jointly funding the $125,000 update by the WolfBrown firm, the same consultant that wrote the city’s 2002 Cultural Plan.
“We’re trying to get into every corner of the city we can” with the study update, Jody Ulich, executive director of the Arts Council, said.
From the 2002 plan, the city developed its public art program and launched the Community Arts Center.
And, “we achieved increased funding for the arts, lost it, and then got it back again,” Ulich said.
