Fort Worth Firefighter Charities donate washer, dryer to elementary school

Firefighters do more than put out fires.

And, since they often get dirty in their line of work, they can appreciate the value of a working washer and dryer. If there’s anyone who can challenge a firefighter when it comes to getting clothes dirty, it’s kids.

Thursday, Fort Worth Firefighter Charities, along with the Fort Worth Fire Department, will donate and deliver a much-needed washer and dryer to M.I. Logan Elementary School.

Recently, newly appointed Fort Worth Fire Chief Jim Davis and Fire Director Mark Rauscher participated in a welcome-to-school event at M.I. Logan. While there, they saw a first-hand need for these appliances.

The school frequently has the need to launder some of the students’ clothing, and their current machines are in poor condition.

When informed of this, Fort Worth Firefighter Charities stepped up and answered the call
