Fort Worth Youth Orchestra Bon Voyage rehearsal

🕐 1 min read

This summer, 55 students – and 27 family members – from the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra will embark on a European performance tour after an open rehearsal and “Bon Voyage” party at Orchestra Hall on June 8.

The group travels initially to Munich and then to six other cities in Austria and the Czech Republic.

The FWYO organization has a long history of international performance tours, beginning in 1969 with its visit to the 1st Annual International Festival of Youth Orchestras in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Since then, the YO has visited major cities in 14 countries, including the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Netherlands and Luxembourg. The tours included two of Fort Worth’s Sister Cities: Nagaoka, Japan and Reggio Emilia, Italy.
