As a laptop woman, Darlene Boudreaux would probably do just fine without a desk. But where would she put the Australian wood coasters that don’t really work very well, the computer monitor that’s more or less a giant paperweight, and the little toy airplane that reminds her of a momentous occasion 10 months ago? (She got married). Let’s take a look at what is on her desk anyway.
Laptop: “Most of my work is done on this. I can be here in my office or in the conference room or anywhere, really. As long as my laptop is with me, I can work. And do.”
Stack of Coasters: From Sydney, Australia, where she picked up an award for being one of the top entrepreneurs – in the world. “They are not very good coasters. Not very practical. It’s not as though they actually absorb anything. I just think the wood is pretty.”
Miniature Airplane: Reminds her of husband Kevin, an Air Force veteran whose job is to teach pilots how to navigate super speedy airplanes like the F-35.

Pencil Cup Holder: Most prized possession. Once used by her dad, who helped her start her pharmaceutical company. He died two years after they opened the doors. “It means dad is always here.”
In & Out Boxes. “I’m not so good at actually moving things out of the in box into the out box. My assistant is very, very efficient in getting things out. Me? Not so much.”
Desktop Computer. Just a monitor, really. “I use it mostly when I need to do two things at once, like watching a webinar. Otherwise, it’s just a big paperweight.”
