Hollywood comes to Forest Hill

Students interested in preparing for a career as an actor or filmmaker are welcome to the 25th Annual Film Institute, sponsored by the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce.

The conference is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Forest Hill Civic and Convention Center, 6901 Wichita St., 76140. Workshops will be presented by industry experts covering crucial aspects of a career in the film and entertainment business including acting, modeling, film production, directing, writing, camera operation, staging and lighting.

The institute is open to children age 6 and up and adults who are interested in careers in acting and film making. The program costs $75 per person, luncheon included. Deadline to register is Feb. 18. Proceeds from the event benefit the Film Institute Scholarship Fund at Tarrant County College South Campus.
