When pigs fly, well, they’ll end up in Minnesota.

On this trip, at least.

Sunday, the Humane Society of North Texas sent 13 lucky piggies and their piglets to Minnesota to new homes.

“It’s not often you send a ginormous pig on a lifesaving flight,” said Cassie Lackey, HSNT director of communications.

Included in the cargo was a pig named Thelma. She weighs in at a whopping 150 pounds.

“Thelma got too big for her britches, is house-trained and loves people,” Lackey said.

The journey also included over 100 cats and some small dogs.
