Irving Music Factory opens with ZZTop

The biggest little band in Texas, ZZTop, kicked off the latest North Texas music venue last week, the Irving Music Factory Pavilion.

But wait, the venue has a new name, the Toyota Music Factory.

The air-conditioned amphitheatre seats 4,000 on the inside with another 4,000 on the lawn when the roll-up doors are open.

The venue was originally scheduled to open Sept. 1 with comedian Dave Chappelle, but it was ready, so officials delayed events for a week, rescheduling Chappelle.

ARK Group president and developer Noah Lazes said at a media event on Friday that weather issues delayed the opening.

Concession stands for the amphitheater will include food from Fuzzy’s Tacos, Campizi’s, Pecan Lodge barbecue and Ricos Nacho Chips and popcorn. .

Along with the music and event venue, the development will include 25 restaurants and bars currently under construction, as well as an Alamo Drafthouse and a bowling alley.

Other acts on the horizon include KISS, Chris Isaak, Wilco, Ryan Adams and Harry Styles.
