The Amon G. Carter Stadium at TCU is more than likely to be surged by a sea of purple with fans on Saturday, August 31, the Horned Frog Football’s opening game of the new season.
A day prior, businesses are expecting the streets of Fort Worth to be flooded purple as Go Purple Friday begins August 30.
Go Purple Friday is a community initiative that encourages fans to rally support for the Horned Frogs.
For that extra motivation to show TCU pride, about 300 area businesses will offer product and service discounts for anyone wearing purple on Fridays before each football game, both home and away.
Customers donning their purple-wear can find exclusive offers in stores and restaurants across Fort Worth including Downtown, West 7th Development, Montgomery Plaza, Clearfork and other local areas.
Go Purple Friday discount program will last throughout the duration of the season until Nov. 22.
TCU Horned Frogs will play against Arkansas Pine Bluff on Saturday.
Go Purple Friday began as in 2010, when TCU Horned Frogs football team achieved their first undefeated and untied season since 1938.
TCU Athletics continued the program with the ambition to grow larger each year since.
