(CNN) — “Star Wars Episode VII” will take J.J. Abrams to a galaxy far, far away – and reportedly also to London.

“We are, most likely, if all goes as planned, going to be moving to London at the end of the year for the ‘Star Wars’ movie,” Abrams said Saturday at the Produced By Conference, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

This is good news for “Star Wars” fans, considering that the force is strong in London with all of the previous films being shot there. However, for Abrams – and his inconvenienced family – the new film might as well be shot on the distant moon of Endor.

“When you’re 13 and 14, it’s like … I don’t care what the movie is,” Abrams said jokingly about his kids’ relocation across the pond.

Even though the director is uprooting his family and changing his production pattern – he has shot all of his previous films in Los Angeles – for a planned start date of early 2014, he also understands the need for balance when approaching the “Star Wars” universe.

“It is so massive and so important to people,” Abrams said. “I think the key to moving forward on something like this is honoring but not revering what came before.”
