John McCaa, legend in local news, announces his retirement plans

John McCaa, a legend in local news, has announced that after 42-and-a-half years in television news, 35 of them at WFAA in Dallas, he will retire in March of next year.

MaCaa spent seven-and-half-years at WOWT-TV in Omaha before joining WFAA.

“Am I ready? In some ways yes, in some ways no. Management has graciously asked me to stay longer; I’ve politely declined,” he said during the broadcast on Monday.
