La Zona announced today new menu and entertainment expansion plans for 2019 including fast-casual counter served tacos, a mini food truck park, live outdoor entertainment among other new plans.
The Spanish inspired restaurant La Zona is currently comprised of three guest experiences including Hotel Madrid (the kitchen, dining, and bar), St. Sofia (the annex building that serves fresh fried churros and coffee), and an al fresco dining patio that connects the two spaces creating a unique experience in one of the city’s most popular entertainment districts.
Known for a lineup of pizza, tapas, churros and a full bar serving beer, wine, and craft cocktails underscored by the sounds of music spun by favorite North Texas deejays each Friday and Saturday evening, La Zona has quickly become a Fairmount favorite since opening their doors in January 2018. Now, La Zona plans to build on their momentum and add a line up of fresh new elements to the popular venue.
Beginning January 19, 2019, the locale will kick off the first of two expansion phases. Phase 1 will feature a transformation of the beloved St. Sofia. The coffee and churro counter service will expand to include a (weekend only) walk up bar with house made margaritas and canned beer for quick drink service. In addition, on Friday and Saturday nights, bar patrons can indulge in late night taco service. The tacos will be fast-casual Mexican street style tacos (served from 10 pm – 2 am). Phase 2 will come to life in early spring 2019 and will be a food and entertainment additions that are set to include a mini food truck park and outdoor performance acts.

With the recent closing of Casey’s second concept Americado, the new Magnolia menu item will bring will be nod to the restaurant and merge the Latin flavors of both concepts into one.
“We put our heart and soul into every concept and project our team creates. The closing of Americado was a necessary decision, but a hard one.” said Casey. “I am proud to bring a part of what we created into La Zona so that guests can continue to enjoy the wonderful flavor in a new location!”
