Meier claims auctioneer title at Stockyards

Angie Sale Meier, from Ennis, has made history as she claimed the title of 2019 Texas Lone Star Open Auctioneer Champion. The historical moment took place at the Fort Worth Stockyards on Friday, Oct. 25 Meier is a trailblazer in the auction industry and she has walked on stages that no other woman in the auction business ever has, according to a news release.

Meier competed against countless male auctioneers from all over the country for the title. She walked away with the championship making her the first woman auctioneer to win the esteemed title in one of the most competitive auctioneer competitions in the world.

After the historic win, Meier announced the purchase of Worldwide College of Auctioneering, where would-be auctioneers can be trained by Meier and her team of instructors.

“The auction industry is evolving and changing. Our goal is to provide the highest quality of education in the industry,” Meier said in the news release.
