The doors open at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Natural Grocers’ newest store, located at 2501 W. Seventh St. across from Montgomery Plaza in Fort Worth.
The family-run specialty retailer will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:55 a.m. and will then distribute mystery gift cards to the first 50 customers in line. Gift cards will be in the amount of $5, $10, $25, $50 and $100.
Additional opening day activities include a live performance by local band Groove!HD from 8 to 10 a.m., food tastings and cooking demonstrations.
Each Saturday during July, the new store will feature weekly health fairs from noon to 4 p.m.
Natural Grocers, which has 20 stores across Texas, will employ 28 people at its new Fort Worth location.
The company provides fresh produce that is 100 percent USDA Certified Organic as well as natural dietary supplements and body care products. Stores also feature a nutritional health coach and free nutrition education classes. The Fort Worth store offers a mix of national brands and some locally produced products from Texas.
Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage Inc. – which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol NGVC – was founded as a door-to-door business in Colorado in 1955. The chain now has 3,000 employees and operates in more than 120 stores in 19 states.
