New Friday night dinner in the Buffet Restaurant elevates entree and wine offerings with expanded hours

Starting Friday, July 6, Chef Peter Kreidler will unveil an elevated Friday evening dinner menu for the Kimbell’s Buffet Restaurant in the Louis I. Kahn Building, a news release announced.

Kreidler’s weekly specials will draw upon seasonal and locally sourced ingredients in an effort to create cuisine inspired by the international art on display in the museum, the release explained.

Changing weekly menus will feature fare such as filet mignon, salmon, rack of lamb or duck, as well as an expanded wine program highlighting top-rated vintages. Two entrées will be available each week along with soups, salads and quiche.

“When I travel, I plan my itineraries around top-rated restaurants and local favorites,” Kreidler said in the release. “I’m inspired by diversity in flavors and ingredients along with cultural fusions, and I hope our guests dining at the Kimbell will have a similar experience.”

On July 6, guests will select from either Thai sweet chili salmon with snow peas and sesame noodles, or a lighter option of crunchy Asian chicken salad inspired by From the Lands of Asia, plus a performance by one of Fort Worth’s favorite jazz duos, Tom Reynolds and Paul Unger.

“Visiting the Kahn Building at night is an experience that is unrivaled in our city. Evening diners will enjoy the intimacy of the space, along with live music, surrounded by the Museum’s stunning collection. Our new dinner offerings match the ambiance of this special place,” Kimbell Director Eric M. Lee said in the release.

The Buffet will remain open for an additional hour, until 9 p.m., Friday evenings beginning July 6, with the museum’s galleries open until 8 p.m.

The release explained the additional hour aims to allow visitors greater flexibility when attending programs such as Friday Evening Lectures, Kimbell Social Club and studio-art activities.
