Panther Island Brewing has leased a building on the southern edge of Panther Island in Fort Worth, bringing several months of structural development to fruition at 401 N. Main St.

“Panther Island Brewing is exactly the type of business we want on Panther Island,” said J.D. Granger, executive director of the Trinity River Vision Authority, commenting in a news release.

“We want businesses that create a special culture, identity and excitement for the district. The whole craft beer culture is so lively, we think it is a perfect fit for what we are creating,” Granger said.

The brewing company also will serve as partner for a new weekly event at Panther Island Pavilion. Known as “Sunday Funday,” the series promises a relaxed event taking place from 1 to 6 p.m. every Sunday on the banks of the Trinity River. The weekly gathering will feature tubing, food trucks, live music, kayaks, canoes, pedal boats and stand-up paddle boats. Panther Island Brewing will be the exclusive beer vendor and will serve several of its beers on site.

“Panther Island represents what we’re all about: Great times, great music and great people,” said Michael Harper, co-owner of the brewery. “We’re stoked to be a part of this new neighborhood and can’t wait for everyone to enjoy our beers and a fantastic view of the Fort Worth skyline in our historic building.”

Those interested in learning more about Panther Island Brewing are invited to a weekly tasting party planned to be held every Saturday at the brewery. More information is expected to be posted soon on the brewery’s website at www.pantherislandbrewing.com.
