As part of Fort Worth’s Oktoberfest celebrations, sponsored by and taking place at Panther Island Pavilion, there will be an Oktoberfest Run und Ride, running and biking extravaganza.
The Run und Ride will take place Saturday, Sept. 23, and is presented by Run Project. The event can be done in either a 15 or 25 mile bike ride, or a 5K, 10K, or fun run on and around the Trinity River.
There is a youth discount for registration for the Run und Ride, but regular pricing is as follows:
— 20 Mile Urban Bike Ride – $40.00 Individual Entry
— 10K Run – $65.00 Individual Entry
— 5K Run – $45.00 Individual Entry Level 6
— 1 Mile Run – $25.00 Individual Entry
Participants in the Run und Ride will be able to receive race swag, which includes an Oktoberfest Race Shirt, a 2017 Fort Worth Oktoberfest Stein and drink ticket, free entry into Fort Worth’s Oktoberfest and free race parking
Virtual participants are also allowed and this registration includes a virtual bib and a race shirt. Virtual participation is $35.00.
Panther Island Pavilion reminds participant that the bike ride is a rally, not a race, and that helmets are required.
Major intersections will be supported by the Fort Worth Police Department and Bicycles Inc. will be providing sag and rider support.
“The event will provide additional Oktoberfest “oomp-pah-pah” and supports the Trinity River Vision Authority,” the website reads. “Join the Oktoberfest spirit and dare to run or ride in your lederhosen and dirndls.”
The schedule for the Run und Ride is as follows:
8 a.m. – Packet Pickup Opens
9:45 a.m. – Bike Ride – Helmets Required
10 a.m. – Fun Run
10:15 a.m. – 5K & 10K
11 a.m. – Awards
Awards will be available for 5K & 10K run participants in the following categories:
— 1st-3rd Overall Male & Female
— 1st Overall Masters Male & Female
— Top 3 Male & Female finishers in the following age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over
