This Friday, Aug. 18 they are showing 2010’s True Grit from 6:30-9 p.m. Free registration is required for this edition of the Movies at the Museum series.

“The Sid Richardson Museum invites you to join us as we experience new ways to view the Old West,” the website reads. “In Hollywood’s classic Western films, the American West was a place of forging legends. [But now], in the mid-20th century, a new brand of Western films has come along. The Modern Western questions the ideals and style of the traditional Western, favoring realism over romanticism.”
