‘Shark Tank’, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to demo new products at Central Market in Fort Worth, Southlake

Dallas Mavericks owner and Shark Tank panelist Mark Cuban is spending today at Central Market, but he’s not shopping, he’s selling. Cuban will be in Central Markets in Dallas, Southlake and Fort Worth today to promote companies he’s invested in, three of them via the ABC reality show “Shark Tank.”

Cuban invested $100,000 in Lani Lazzari’s Simple Sugar Scrubs for a 33 percent stake in the Pittsburg company that provides all-natural products for sensitive skin. For another $100,000 and 35 percent of the company, Cuban invested in Monkey Mat of Austin, from Courtney Turich and Christie Barany. The company makes an all-purpose blanket that parents can use for kids either indoors or out. The third “Shark Tank” investment may be the one people will be chirping about the most: Chapul, an energy bar made from cricket flour. Cuban invested $50,000 in the Salt Lake City company.

A company Cuban found independently is Jupiter, Fla.-based Alyssa’s Bakery, an all-natural oatmeal cookie. Cuban’s schedule: Central Market “Dallas Store” (5750 E Lovers Ln between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.) Central Market “Southlake Store” (1425 E Southlake Blvd. between 2 – 4 p.m.) Central Market “Fort Worth Store” (4651 West Freeway between 5-7 p.m.)
