Things are going to get spooky in Cowtown.

The Spooky Spectacle will make its debut at the Will Rogers Memorial Center Sept. 14-15. The event, known formerly as the Granbury Paranormal Expo, will kick off the Halloween season with a convention that will feature exhibitors in a variety of genres, including horror, paranormal, sci-fi, cosplay, fantasy, metaphysical, and much more.

“Spooky Spectacle will feature something fun for just about anyone,” said Brandy Herr, co-founder of the event. “We are trying to make this event inclusive to as many fandoms as possible while still keeping a creepy vibe.”

Herr knows creepy. She is the author of the book “Haunted Granbury” and also hosts the Granbury Ghosts and Legends Tour, which she also co-founded. She is also a member of the ghost hunting team Research and Investigation of the Paranormal, and she has participated in several ghost hunt investigations in and around Granbury.

She now lives in Granbury with her husband, Matthew, and their adopted dog, Luna, along with their adopted cats, Emma and Goblin.

Among the array of celebrities appearing at Spooky Spectacle are:

*Actors Dale Midkiff (the dad) and Miko Hughes (the son) from the original “Pet Sematary” movie.

*Actor Ken Sagoes from “A Nightmare On Elm Street” 3 and 4.

*Actor Paul T. Taylor, Pinhead from “Hellraiser: Judgement.”

And, as a special attraction, the Green Goblin head on the 18-wheeler from Stephen King’s “Maximum Overdrive” movie will be making its first Texas appearance.

The decision to move to Fort Worth is a credit to its seven years of success in Granbury, Herr said.

“We were doing so well in Granbury that we knew if we moved it to an indoor venue in a more centrally located North Texas location we could really allow the event to grow into what it has now become,” Herr said.

With over 200 exhibitors, this is the largest event yet for the Spooky Spectacle/Paranormal Expo.

“We love seeing how its grown from our relatively humble roots,” Herr said. “We are striving to make Spooky Spectacle into an event that is worthy of our new Metroplex location.”

Admission will be $10, with children age 5 and under free. Parking is $10 per vehicle.
