Nissan Nightlife Concert Series to take place May 11

The Nissan Nightlife Concert Series is coming to Sundance Square this summer with free concerts May 11 and May 25 in Sundance Square Plaza, a news release said.

The Nissan Nightlife Concert Series will feature Emerald City Band on May 11 and Quaker City Night Hawks on May 25, with both shows starting at 7 p.m. on the plaza stage.

“Nissan has been a great partner in the plaza and we are pleased to bring both bands to Sundance Square Plaza in May to entertain the community,” Tracy Gilmour, Sundance Square’s director of marketing, said in the release. “The music series is a great opportunity to enjoy Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth and all that it has to offer including restaurants and shops.”

Emerald City Band is a 13-piece, three-horn section supergroup known for exciting audiences with high-energy songs. Quaker City Night Hawks is a rock n’ roll band with sounds of Texas boogie, Memphis soul and heavy blues.

Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome during the concert, the release said. Beverages will be available for purchase during the performances and restaurants will be open throughout the evening.

Also coming up this summer is Plaza Palooza, a free two-day festival June 1 – 2 with chalk artists, a popular line-up of music, visual street artists and other fun entertainment.

The professional chalk artists will begin their street paintings Friday, June 1 from 1 to 9 pm. The 16 artists also will be in Sundance Square on Saturday, June 2 from 1 pm until they finish their original works of art, which will be on display throughout the weekend.
