Swiss Pastry Shop chef heads to Kimbell

Kreidler

Peter Kreidler, former executive chef of the popular Swiss Pastry Shop in Fort Worth, has joined the Kimbell Art Museum’s staff as manager of food services.

Kreidler will replace Shelby Schafer, who is retiring after serving in the position for over 30 years.

Kreidler, a native of McAllen, Texas, received his agriculture degree from Texas A&M University before moving to New York to attend the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. Upon graduation, he trained at Craft Restaurant in Los Angeles and later accepted a position at Boulevard, a Michelin-Starred restaurant, in San Francisco.

After living on the West Coast for several years, Kreidler moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and worked at Neighborhood Services and Clay Pigeon. Most recently, he was appointed executive chef at Swiss Pastry Shop, where he inaugurated the restaurant’s dinner program.
