TCC Announces Fall Fine Arts and Visual Arts Events

Tarrant County College is offering many opportunities to participate in and see dance, drama and musical events and visual arts exhibits this fall. The events were detailed in a news release, separated by campus, and include:

Southeast Campus, 2100 Southeast Parkway, Arlington: “Fort Worth Art Collectives, 1990-2015: Grand Studio,” features a yearlong exploration of collectives and the work of Grand Studio artists. The collection runs through Nov. 2 in Art Corridor II. “Fort Worth Art Collectives, 1990-2015: Studio 4” opens Nov. 16 and runs through Jan. 5. Admission is free.

Northeast Campus, 828 Harwood Road, Hurst: Starting Oct. 3, this campus will feature a wide variety of free instrumental and vocal concerts and recitals including a Chamber Music Festival, Nov. 3 and 4. Additionally A Streetcar Named Desire, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tennessee Williams, will premiere Oct. 11 at the Northeast Drama Playhouse. General admission is $6, non-TCC students and senior citizens, $3, and TCC students, faculty and staff, free. Showtimes are 7 p.m. nightly and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Northwest Campus, 4801 Marine Creek Parkway: Dance workshops, led by members of the Mosaic Dance Project, will be offered for area high school students Oct. 18-20. These workshops culminate with a dress rehearsal of “Mosaic in Motion,” which has two shows at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21. The program features works performed by Mosaic Dance Project, the Northwest Outreach & Touring Dance Company. General admission is $6, admission for non-TCC students and senior citizens is $3, and admission for TCC students, faculty and staff is free.

C.A. Roberson Theatre on the Southeast Campus: On Oct. 28, Mosaic Dance Project will join other district dance programs for “Conversations in Rhythm: TCC District Dance Concert.” The concert also includes Continuum Dance Company (TCC South), Fusion Dance Company (TCC Southeast), Movers Unlimited (TCC Northeast) and guest artists Perpetual Motion Dance, with performances at 2 and 8 p.m. All online ticket sale proceeds will go to Dancers Responding to AIDS. South Campus, 5301 Campus Drive: Passengers opens Nov. 16 and runs through Nov. 18 at the Joe B. Rushing Center for Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. nightly. In this comedy/drama, four actors portray multiple characters in eight short scenes that take place in a small bus station. General admission is $6, admission for non-TCC students and senior citizens is $3, and admission for TCC students, faculty and staff is free.
