The Cowtown calls for T-Shirt designs

J. Parker Ragland

The people over at The Cowtown Marathon have announced that they want t-shirt designs–from anyone daring enough to submit them. The winner’s artwork will be sweated in by up to 28,000 runners. It will also be displayed on posters, The Cowtown web page, and “many other race-related publications for the 2014 event,” as stated in their press release. The deadline for submissions is Aug. 5. That’s a Monday, so you designers will have all weekend to live on Red Bull, lack sleep, and stare at Photoshop. The Cowtown’s board of directors will select two finalists, then runners will be able to vote for their favorite design on Facebook (hopefully you’ve developed your social network). The Cowtown is slated for the last weekend in February of 2014, beginning with The Cowtown Health & Fitness Expo on Friday night.

Saturday morning, the Adults 5K, Kids 5K, and 10K will happen. If you plan to run the half, full, or ultra marathon, don’t expect Sunday to be your day of rest, as you will be facing a minimum of 13.1 miles. In 2013, The Cowtown enjoyed 26,822 registered runners, which was a record, one that they hope to break this year. Ready … set … design!
