Jubilee Theater will be opening the previews of a new show, Beehive – The 60s Musical, this Friday at 8 p.m. The musical was created by Larry Gallagher, directed by William (Bill) Earl Ray and will officially open August 4.

Jubilee Theatre’s website describes the show as a musical tribute to the women who made 60s music special. It will showcase women such as Lesley Gore, Janis JOplin, the Supremes, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and the Shirelles. It will also feature songs such as My Boyfriend’s Back, Downtown, Proud Mary, One Fine Day and Piece of My Heart.

The news release promises that the musical “will have you dancing in your seats” and says that this show is suitable for all ages. The preview performances run from July 28 to August 3 at $23. After opening night (August 4) there are performances at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The matinee performances start at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
