Tim Love snags Colonial tournament

Celebrity Fort Worth Chef Tim Love will become the exclusive on-course concessionaire and private hospitality caterer for the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, beginning with the 2014 event, tournament officials announced. Love is the chef/owner of the Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Woodshed Smokehouse, Love Shack and Queenie’s Steakhouse, in addition to the White Elephant Saloon in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

In 2012 he partnered with national foodservice company Sodexo to become the sole food service provider in hospitality suites at Texas Christian University’s Amon Carter Stadium. “We were looking to add a distinctive Fort Worth and Texan flair to our food offerings, and we think Tim Love will help us accomplish that in a big way,” said Tournament Chairman Bobby Patton. “Colonial is a uniquely Fort Worth event, and we want to instill that touch into our food service as well.”

Love will be responsible for operating about 20 on-course concession stands for the public, and more than 50 on-course private hospitality venues for corporate sponsors. Details about Love’s new concession and catering menu items to be offered will be announced in the weeks leading up to the 2014 golf tournament May 19-25. – Betty Dillard
