A multi-purpose pavilion at Will Rogers Memorial Center could come closer to fruition if the Fort Worth City Council approves a $4.7 million funding proposal.
The issue is scheduled for discussion and possible action at the Jan. 28 regular council meeting. Pre-council begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 10 a.m. regular session at City Hall, 1000 Throckmorton St.
Two projects await consideration: a multi-purpose pavilion calling for a covered, open-air arena allowing equestrian shows and other activities; and a cattle barn-milking parlor project jointly planned by the city, the Fort Worth Stock Show and Event Facilities Fort Worth Inc. It would feature a covered promenade from the parking lot on the southern part of the Will Rogers Memorial Center Complex to the central part of the complex.
At the Tuesday meeting, the council will consider transferring $1.2 million from the city’s culture and tourism fund to the public events capital projects fund; authorizing a $4.7 million contract with Imperial Construction Inc. for building the multi-purpose pavilion; and increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the public events capital projects fund by $1.2 million.
