You can’t keep a good Ranger down: ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’ reboot is alive and kicking

He played one on TV, and now actor Chuck Norris is going to become an honorary Texas Ranger on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010.

You can’t keep a good Ranger down, even if he has ridden off into the sunset in a giant Dodge truck.

Walker, Texas Ranger may be coming back. According to a report on Deadspin, Supernatural star Jared Padalecki is set to star in and executive produce a new version of Walker.

Deadspin says the series is being shopped around by CBS TV Studios and that the CW, where Padalecki’s current series, Supernatural, has a home, is the leading contender. While the former CBS series that starred Chuck Norris was filmed and set in Dallas (with many scenes filmed in Fort Worth), the new series will be set in Austin. Padalecki is a Texas native.
