The Fort Worth ISD Hiring Fair 2018 is bringing together more than 100 employers to discuss part-time, entry-level full-time and summer job opportunities from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, June 7 at Will Rogers Memorial Center Exhibits Hall, a news release announced.
“Hiring Fair 2018 is about connecting young job seekers and college-bound graduates with a job, a career, and education assistance to help them fulfill their dreams,” said Lila Boydston, event coordinator.”
Now in its 25th year, admission to the hiring fair, open to seniors and recent grads of FWISD FWISD seniors and recent graduates ages 17 to 21, is free. According to the release, the fair will also feature workshop sessions on dressing for success, resume writing and critiques and presentation.
The release explained that the event is recognized as one of the largest employer-attended job fairs in Fort Worth and Tarrant County, and that Fort Worth ISD is believed to be the only school district in Texas offering a job fair targeting recent graduates that includes multiple participating employers and services.
Attendees are encouraged to dress for success, bring plenty of resumes, and not to bring children to the event.
Free parking and shuttle service is available at Farrington Field, on the corner of University Drive and West Lancaster Avenue across the street from Casa Manana. Parking is $10 at Will Rogers. There is also a city bus stop (Trinity Metro) at Farrington Field.
Partners in this year’s event include Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce, Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains, Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth, North Central Texas InterLink, VolunteerNow, and Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County
