O. Homer Erekson, the John V. Roach Dean of the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University, will step down as dean in May 2019. Erekson announced his intentions to the Neeley School’s international board Friday morning.

Erekson will continue at TCU Neeley in a faculty role. A search committee will be put in place by the Provost’s office for a new dean. Erekson was named dean in March 2008. He is an alumnus of TCU with a BBA in economics and political science from TCU and PhD in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

In a letter to the Neeley School faculty and staff, Erekson wrote: “It has been a privilege to serve in this important leadership role. I am grateful for the amazing faculty and staff in the Neeley School who have nurtured and supported our students, have been thought leaders with high quality research, have helped Neeley become a leader among academic units at TCU, and have provided important leadership to the business community and professional associations and organizations well beyond TCU.”

In mid-April, TCU Provost Nowell Donovan announced his intent to retire in May 2019.
