Fort Worth seminars to encourage water conservation

A. Lee Graham Reporter

Hoping to show residents that water conservation also saves money, the Fort Worth Water Department is hosting a free seminar series on how to conserve the wet stuff. The Texas AgriLife Extension Service is partnering with the city in the free summertime series, where attendees will learn several things. Those include how to keep landscapes healthy during water restrictions, how to plan and grow a water-saving garden or landscape, how to perform irrigation checkups, and how to make minor repairs and adjustments to sprinkler systems. All seminars begin at 6 p.m. and take place at Hazel Harvey Peace Center for Neighborhoods, 818 Missouri Ave. Attendance is limited. Those wanting to attend the Tuesday June 25 lawn care maintenance seminar may register online at http://lawncaremaintenance.eventbrite.com/#. Registration for the Tuesday July 16 sprinkler system basics and Tuesday Aug. 20 edible plants seminar are available at http://www.eventbrite.com/ and http://ediblefrontyard.eventbrite.com/#.
