Previously with one of the largest charter school networks in Texas, IDEA Public Schools, Rhonda Nelson has been hired as Child Care Associates’ (CCA) new chief human resources officer, a newly created position within the organization.

“In the nonprofit space, it can be challenging to invest heavily in human resources. At the same time, we understand that one of the best investments we make in quality early childhood education is in the quality of adults and teachers in our CCA classrooms and organization,” said President and CEO of CCA Kara Waddell. “Rhonda’s rich experience in human resources and organizational design brings a necessary skillset to our senior management team at CCA to ensure strong outcomes for young children in every zip code we serve.”

Nelson’s innovative experience includes launching an Aspiring Leaders program at Uplift Education designed to identify high performing staff to move into school leadership positions. She is also lauded for creating systems and processes to support organizational enrichment. Nelson received her Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University, Cedar Hill.

“While working in the K-12 space for the last 10 years in senior human resources roles, I’ve refined proven recruiting strategies, leadership development programs and organizational culture initiatives that can benefit the early childhood education world,” said Nelson. “I am thrilled to join the team of leaders at Child Care Associates to improve outcomes for young children and support a culture of strong early education professionals.”
