Two architectural firms are on board for the renovation of Tarleton State University’s Memorial Stadium.

Fort Worth-based Huckabee and Atlanta-based Heery Sports will do architectural and engineering work for the $24 million project, which includes plans to expand seating at the Stephenville facility from 7,400 to 9,400, turn the west-side stands into seating for home team fans and replace the football field and surrounding track surface.

Heery Sports will lead the project’s design, while Huckabee will assist in the design and provide construction administration services. Construction is scheduled to begin in May 2017 and conclude in time for the start of the 2018 football season. The project is not expected to interfere with Tarleton’s use of the stadium for the 2017 football season.

“Huckabee and Heery Sports are proud to work together to help Tarleton realize its vision for a superior athletic complex,” Daren Kirbo, a vice president at Huckabee, said in a news release.
