Veronica Chavez Law announces run for Tarrant County College District Board of Trustees, District 7

“It is with great enthusiasm that I announce my candidacy for Place 7 on the Board of Trustees
for Tarrant County College. TCC plays a fundamental role in meeting the educational needs of our growing county and
region. I look forward to the opportunity to help lead and guide this important community
asset.”

Over the years, Law worked in the business community as a commercial real estate, banking and
business attorney and has dedicated her time to serving the community. She has chaired the Boards
of non-profit organizations, such as Leadership Fort Worth and Fort Worth Sister Cities
International. Like TCC, these organizations aim to improve the quality of lives of residents.
Law states, “As an attorney, I’ve honed skills in advocacy, negotiation, compromise and in being fair-minded.
My background in commercial real estate and banking and my degree in economics will allow
me to ensure that there are sound policies in place to maintain the strong finances and physical
infrastructure of the College system. I believe that my experience will complement those of
existing Trustees.”

Law has received the endorsement of retiring TCC Trustee Kenneth Barr, who has chosen not to seek re-election. “I applaud Mr. Barr’s advocacy for TCC, his service as a Mayor of Fort Worth and his leadership roles in many other business and community organizations. I’m honored to receive his support”, Law says.

Law is a commercial real estate, banking and business attorney with the
international firm of Duane Morris LLP, practicing in their Fort Worth office. She attended the
University of Colorado at Boulder to obtain her undergraduate B.A. degree in economics with a
business emphasis and her law degree. She is licensed to practice in Texas and Colorado.
