Cisco firm invests in Canadian fracking company

Cisco-based Wilks Brothers LLC, led by former Frac–Tech founders, has increased its stake in a Canadian fracking firm.

Wilks Brothers LLC said on Thursday it now holds about 16.4 million shares, which represents about 11.99 percent of the issued and outstanding common shares in Calgary-based Calfrac Well Serivces Inc.

Calfrac Well Services Ltd., together with its subsidiaries, provides specialized oilfield services in Canada, the United States, in the Russian area and Latin America. The company offers hydraulic fracturing, coiled tubing, cementing, other well stimulation, and pressure pumping services to oil and natural gas industries. Calfrac Well Services was founded in 1999.
