Open house focuses on proposed gas line compressor regs

A. Lee Graham Reporter   Demand by neighborhood leaders and the Fort Worth City Council has prompted a second public meeting on proposed gas line compressor regulations. Residents are invited to the event, set for 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday Aug. 1 at The University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute, 7300 Jack Newell Blvd. South. Up for discussion are revised staff recommendations dealing with gas line compressors, which pressurize gas to be transported through pipelines. They have raised concerns among some residents regarding potential noise, safety and pollution issues associated with such facilities. The council will hear a follow-up briefing at its Aug. 6 regular meeting, where it will consider amending the city’s gas line compressor regulations.
