Retail gasoline prices slip 2 cents this week across Texas

COPPELL, Texas (AP) — Retail gasoline prices have slipped 2 cents this week across Texas to settle at an average $2.05 per gallon.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported that compares to the nationwide average price at the pump of $2.29, down a penny from last week.

El Paso has the most expensive gasoline in Texas at $2.23 per gallon. The association survey found drivers in Beaumont have the cheapest gasoline in Texas this week at $1.98 per gallon.

AAA experts say U.S. drivers are saving more than $1 per gallon, compared to a year ago, largely due to the relatively low price of crude oil and abundant supplies. Officials also cite the seasonal switchover to less expensive winter-blend gasoline.
