Texas average retail gasoline prices steady at average $1.97

🕐 1 min read

COPPELL, Texas (AP) — Retail average gasoline prices in Texas are holding steady this week at $1.97 per gallon.

AAA Texas, in its weekly report Thursday, found El Paso and Fort Worth, averaging $2.03, have the most expensive fuel among major Texas cities. San Antonio has the cheapest, at $1.91.

The statewide average is 40 cents less than a year ago.

The national average this week for unleaded regular fuel also is unchanged, at $2.13.

The auto club says gasoline supplies nationally are likely to end August at their highest level ever. Combine with relatively low oil prices, that means pump prices are likely to remain cheap through the rest of the summer and into the fall.
