A&M edges TCU in 10 innings, forces Game 3 for World Series berth

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) – Nick Choruby scored on Blake Allemand’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning, and Texas A&M forced a deciding Game 3 in their NCAA super regional at TCU with a 2-1 victory Sunday.

TCU starter Preston Morrison (11-3) got the first out in the 10th before walking Choruby and allowing a single to No. 9 hitter Michael Barash. Allemand’s flyball to left off closer Riley Ferrell sent home Choruby.

Texas A&M (50-13) will be trying to reach its first College World Series since 2011 on Monday. TCU (48-13) went to Omaha last season.

Ryan Hendrix (6-3) went 2 1-3 innings in relief after Texas A&M starter Matt Kent threw 7 and 2-3 scoreless innings.

Logan Taylor had an RBI double in the sixth for Texas A&M. TCU, the visiting team on its home field under the super regional format, tied it in the ninth on Keaton Jones’ sacrifice fly.
