Former Fort Worth Chamber vice president joins Cooksey Communications

Andra Bennett, former vice president at communications at the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, has joined Cooksey Communications as an account manager.

“Andra’s deep experience with public-private partnerships, government entities, economic development organizations and regional media is an excellent fit for the Cooksey team and will add tremendous value to our client services,” said Colby Walton, president of Cooksey Communications.

Previously, Bennett directed marketing communications strategies for earned, owned and social media, member communications, events and publications at the Fort Worth Chamber.

Prior to joining the Chamber in 2001, Bennett worked in communications for Camp Fire-First Texas Council, the National Association of Private Enterprise, General Dynamics and the Texas Department of Human Services.

Bennett is a past president and an active member of the Greater Fort Worth Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). A graduate of Leadership Fort Worth’s Leadership Class, she was co-chair of the Marketing Advisory Committee for Blue Zones Project – Fort Worth and served on the Marketing Advisory Committee for Visit Fort Worth. She graduated summa cum laude from Abilene Christian University with a B.A. in mass communication and a minor in business administration. She was accredited in public relations by PRSA in 1993.
