2015 Great Women of Texas

Fort Worth Business honored the 2015 Great Women of Texas on Monday night at the Fort Worth Club.

A special section honoring the women is included in the Nov. 16 edition of Fort Worth Business.

Carla Jutson was given the 2015 Legend Award for her work in building Meals on Wheels Inc of Tarrant County from a small volunteer group into an organization that now has over 5,000 volunteers and serves 919,000 annually to more than 4,800 clients.

“I’m not up here by myself,” she said as she accepted the award. “This has truly been a huge group effort.”

Kit Moncrief was named the 2015 Legacy Award Winner for her community service including being the driving force behind the National Cowgirl Museum, and animal rescue efforts such as the Saving Hope Foundation. Accepting the award, she indicated she doesn’t plan to stop anytime soon.

“I wanted to try to make a difference,” she said referring to her work. “And I still do.”
