Arlington Golf and the Texas Rangers have partnered to build the world’s only Major League Baseball-branded golf course — the Texas Rangers Golf Club — which opened to the public today, Feb. 18, 2019.

Residents of Arlington will receive a 20 percent discount on all posted daily rates, while both resident and non-resident golfers age 62 and older will receive further discounts off most posted rates. Deeper discounts are available for Frequent Player Program subscribers. All posted rates include green fee, ½ cart and range balls prior to play.

Arlington residents that join the $99 annual Frequent Player Program (FPP) will pay $18.50 more than they did on weekdays in the final year of operations of Chester Ditto Golf Course for a green fee, 1/2 cart and range balls, while the non-resident weekday increase is $33.00. FPP twilight rates start at $36 for Arlington residents and $45 for non-residents. For a complete view of the rate structure, please visit the course website.

Texas Rangers Golf Club involved a total renovation and updated routing of the existing golf course with improved turf grasses, cart paths and bunkering, additional water features and a new fleet of GPS-equipped golf cars. The club’s expanded 23-acre practice area includes a double-ended range, a practice hole and two short game areas.

A new 33,871-square-foot clubhouse, set to open in early 2020, will feature a full-service restaurant and bar, covered patio overlooking the golf course, pro shop, locker rooms, and numerous rental and event spaces. In the interim, the golf club will operate out of a temporary clubhouse that includes a fully-stocked golf shop, small food & beverage operation, and restrooms.

Overseeing the renovation were John Colligan and Trey Kemp of Arlington-based Colligan Golf Design. Colligan, a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, had conducted previous notable projects at Brackenridge Park Golf Course (San Antonio), Lubbock Country Club, Stevens Park Golf Course (Dallas), and Mustang Golf Course (Amarillo).

Under the agreement, the City of Arlington will maintain ownership and daily operations of the course and will not be charged for usage of the Rangers trademarks. The Texas Rangers will promote the golf course through various pre- and in-game marketing and advertising opportunities throughout the baseball season.
