Spot to feature popular “12 Games for the Price of 10” ticket offer

The Texas Rangers will debut a new commercial this Sunday, Feb. 4th, during Super Bowl LII, a news release stated.

The Rangers have once again teamed up with Dallas-based TM Advertising and production company charlieuniformtango on a commercial spot, which will feature an unexpected way to welcome the beginning of baseball season.

The ad will also announce the return of a limited-time ticket offer — available Sunday morning to midnight on Monday, Feb. 5 at texasrangers.com/BaseballTime — that includes Opening Day and a 12th game of fan’s choosing for free with the purchase of a 10-game ticket package.

“It’s not easy to stand out during an event like the Super Bowl,” Lisa Bennett, chief creative officer at TM, said in the release. “You’re competing with big budget spots, celebrities, puppies and babies. We wanted to create an unconventional spot for the Rangers that taps into the emotional psyche of baseball fans.”

According to the release, the commercial, directed by Lan Freedman of charlieuniformtango, aims to “capture the awakening of Rangers baseball fans and the building excitement brought on by the end of football season.”

The commercial will air locally on NBC 5 during the Super Bowl broadcast. The Texas Rangers season opener will be at 2:35 p.m. Thursday, March 29 at Globe Life Park in Arlington, versus the Houston Astros.

“The end of football season means that the hibernation of baseball fans is officially over, and there’s no better way to celebrate than with a ticket offer that includes Opening Day free,” Becky Kimbro, vice president of Marketing for the Texas Rangers, said in the release.
